We also have suitable trekking socks for our youngest explorers - because good equipment is essential. Read four useful tips for your hike with children here.
Tip 1: Hiking companions
Are your children not quite as keen on hiking as you are? Then it might be useful if you allow your children to take two friends with them. Or how about taking another family with you? With friends of the same age at your side, a hike becomes an exploratory expedition and fun is guaranteed for all participants.
Tip 2: Allow more time
When hiking with children, you should always allow more time. Ideally, you should take a short break at attractive places every hour or so. For example, at fireplaces, lakes or streams. You can go for a dip, dam up the water and observe the animals and plants. It is also important to take breaks on the descent when your legs are tired and your concentration wanes.
Tip 3: Equip children optimally
Even the youngest hikers need good equipment for wind and weather. The rucksack should not be too heavy and, if possible, the child should have a say in what they want to wear. Because then it will be much more fun. A change of clothes, headgear, sunglasses and sun cream should also be included.
Tip 4: Optimal footwear and matching socks
Hiking boots should have a good tread sole and the socks should be of high quality and comfortable. Our Globi trekking socks are ideal for this. They are mainly made of wool and guarantee optimum moisture regulation. The linked sock toe and the plush in the foot area ensure that they are comfortable to wear to avoid friction or irritation in the toe and foot area.
