Packaging and recycling
Reusing is better than recycling.
There is no need to waste resources. That's why we also strive to make our packaging process as sustainable as possible and to keep improving.
Our product packaging is all made from FSC (Mix) paper, which is fully recyclable. In addition, we do not use any filling material or plastic during transport from production to the logistics center or to the end customer, unless explicitly requested or necessary. Thanks to a modern high-bay warehouse, we are also able to dispense with plastic during storage and can store the products in cardboard boxes. We reuse these cardboard boxes in which our products are delivered and stored up to 10 times before we recycle them. This means that almost 30,000 kg of cardboard is reused every year between our logistics center and our production facility in Portugal.
The cardboard boxes that can no longer be used are processed by our recycling partner Loacker. In 2020, we recycled 7530 kg of cardboard, 815 kg of plastic film and 1760 kg of wood. We not only separate logistics waste, but also PET and aluminum cans from our employees.
Proof of disposal
The disposal certificate from Loacker Ostschweiz Recycling AG confirms that Jacob Rohner AG has collected and delivered the following quantities of recyclable materials for recycling.
