Five Lakes hike Pizol - mountain hike in a class of its own
As the title suggests, the five mountain lakes in the Pizol region really are in a class of their own. Crystal-clear mountain lakes paired with unique rock formations. The hiking route is not without its challenges, but it is definitely worth it. As there is still a lot of snow at this altitude, the tour is not accessible until July. However, you can find out from the Pizolbahn when the season starts.
Hoher Hirschberg - in the heart of Appenzell
The hike from Gais over the Hoher Hirschberg is an easier tour. The Appenzell region offers wonderful panoramic views of the Alpstein mountains and, coupled with the cultural Swiss traditions, this hike is highly recommended.
Spitzmeilenhütte - high-altitude route with magnificent views
A true classic among the high-altitude hikes in the Flumserbergen. The start is on the Maschgenkamm and leads along to the Zigerfurgglen. Many different plant species await you along the way, creating a colorful spectacle. The destination of the hike is the Spitzmeilenhütte SAC. Off to Seealpsee
One of the precious jewels of the Alpstein, the Seealpsee, is hidden in the midst of breathtaking mountain structures. Depending on the weather, the lake shimmers in a beautiful blue-green color and reflects the mountain peaks. You have to see it with your own eyes! A wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Up to the Hoher Kasten
The Hohe Kasten is a classic in the Alpstein of the Appenzell Alps. The beauty of this area is known far and wide. A magnificent mountain panorama and a fantastic view of the Appenzellerland await you on the way to the Hoher Kasten.
