Our vision: tradition and transparency

We are the legacy of years of research and development into a single product: socks. At first glance, a trivial and forgotten garment. But at second glance, socks are the key to our health and our daily activities. That is why we follow Jacob Rohner's vision and offer our customers the best possible product and constantly develop new technologies.

At a time when resources are becoming increasingly precious, it is essential for us to optimise our environment and social impact. To achieve this, we take a holistic approach and anchor our vision on three important pillars:

  • Slow Fashion: For us it is important to design products that have a long life cycle. Because we don't think much of fast fashion and its annual renewal of product lines. For us, it is important that new products complement our current collections, are timeless and offer added value. Contrary to the opinion that growth can only be achieved by duplicating products, we are convinced that growth is also achieved by improving existing products. An additional focus on the real needs of our customers also takes us further. Transparency in our animal products is also crucial. That is why we are committed to using only wool from controlled sources. You can find more information on raw material sourcing here.
  • Transparent production: Our goal is to produce products close to our markets. We manufacture 95% of all products in Europe at our own production facility. This gives us full control over quality and sourcing, and ensures a transparent supply chain that is reflected in every product. Furthermore, we believe in the concept of reducing impact rather than offsetting it. For us, it is more important to minimize the impact at the source than to offset it later. That's why we manufacture our products with care and with the lowest possible impact.

Nevertheless, we offset unavoidable impacts such as CO2 emissions from our shipping service providers through CO2 compensation programmes. This certification for domestic and international shipments is disclosed on our website to show a transparent supply chain. Our customers enjoy a CO2-free supply chain: from production to your door. We are currently working on an even better solution, which we plan to present in 2022.

Optimising the supply chain is a big goal. Already today, all our production processes, products and deliveries are free of packaging plastic - additional packaging is only used if our customers explicitly request it. We are convinced that excess plastic can be avoided through careful resource planning.

Our production cartons are reused several times between the production and logistics centre. We also recycle more than 2000 kg of pallet packaging and 7000 kg of cardboard/paper and promote the recycling culture in our company.

  • Social commitment: Social commitment has always been of central importance to our company. While Jacob Rohner founded the first crèche for employees in Switzerland, we continue the tradition of social commitment and base it on two clear axes:
      • Our internal culture: We pay equal wages, regardless of the gender of the employees. For the sake of transparency, we publish the official pay gap analysis every year. You can view it here. In addition, a solid basic education is important to us and we are proud that we are able to accompany 2 apprentices every year as they start their careers. Through our training programme, we provide the necessary tools to enter the logistics and CT industry.

    • Our social commitment to charities: We launched a sock donation programme in 2019 as we found that socks are one of the most requested products in homeless shelters. In fact, socks are a hygiene product that cannot be reused and must be bought new. To help people in need, we decided to set up our sock donation pool. For every sock you buy from our online shop, we put one sock into our donation pool. Charities can then request socks from this pool for their shelters. To avoid textile waste, we always try to find the most suitable socks for you.
