Five Lakes Hike Pizol - Mountain Hike in a Class of its Own

As the title suggests, the five mountain lakes in the Pizol area are really in a class of their own. Crystal-clear mountain lakes paired with unique rock formations. The hiking route is not without its difficulties, but it is definitely worth it. As there is still quite a lot of snow at this altitude, the tour tends to be accessible only from July. However, you can ask the Pizolbahn when the season starts.

 

Hoher Hirschberg - in the heart of Appenzell

The hike from Gais over the Hoher Hirschberg is an easier tour. The Appenzeller-Land offers beautiful panoramic views of the Alpstein mountains and coupled with the cultural Swiss traditions, this hike is highly recommended.

 

Spitzmeilenhütte - high-altitude route with magnificent views

A true classic among the high-altitude hikes in the Flumserberge. The start is on the Maschgenkamm and leads along to the Zigerfurgglen. On the way you can expect many different plant species, which provide a color spectacle. The destination of the hike is the Spitzmeilenhütte SAC. From there you have a breathtaking view up to the Churfirsten.

On to the Seealpsee

Amidst breathtaking mountain structures, hides one of the precious jewels of Alpstein, the Seealpsee. Depending on the weather, the lake shimmers in a beautiful blue-green colour and reflects the mountain peaks. You have to see it with your own eyes! A wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

 

Up to the High Box

The Hohe Kasten a classic in the Alpstein of the Appenzell Alps. The beauty of this area is widely known. A magnificent mountain panorama and a fantastic view of the Appenzellerland await you on the way to the Hohe Kasten.
